As we near the second anniversary of our COVID ordeal, as we continue to maintain our Sunday giving in difficult times, as we focus on the need to replenish our parish endowments for the funds spent on our unexpected expenses for repairs in recent years to the basilica, and as we look ahead to our one single parish-wide annual fundraiser, the United Parish Program (UPP) on May 13, it challenges our generous spirit to think about fitting in one more request for support, the Archdiocesan Annual Catholic Appeal.
But here are just some of what that very worthy Archdiocesan-wide appeal supports:
Parish/Local Communities: support for parishes and schools serving financially challenged communities.
Parish Incentives/Rebates: funds raised in excess of individual parish goals are returned to the parish for use with their local ministries. QAS has consistently received this “rebate” as we exceed our own parish goal.
Parish Vitality and Mission: programs to support parish vitality, evangelization initiatives, liturgy enhancements.
Catechetical Faith Formation: support for youth, young adult, campus and adult religious education ministries.
Lay Formation: continuing education for lay volunteers and staff serving parish communities.
Human Dignity and Solidarity: activities promoting respect for life at all stages, immigration, Kolbe House prison ministry and peace and justice initiatives.
Priest Education: continuing education for seminarians and priests ordained for the Archdiocese of Chicago.
Catholic Relief Services: assisting the poor and vulnerable overseas.
Our parish community at Queen of All Saints has always responded to this annual call without hesitation. We know that this year will be no exception and that again we will be proud of our parish’s collective effort. Thank you once again.
Thank you for all you do for our parish!
