The chief thing that separates us from God is the thought that we are separated from Him. Centering Prayer is one form of prayer that opens our awareness to the spiritual level of our being. We may think of prayer as thoughts or feelings expressed in words, but this is only one of its forms. The fundamental disposition in Centering Prayer is surrendering to the will and action of God within. It is setting aside a set period of time, even a short time, for prayer each day. It is not thinking of God, nor talking to Him, but just learning to “rest in God.”
You’re invited to learn more with our Centering Prayer group, who meets twice every month in the Benedict Center Chapel. The next meting is Wednesday, February 5 at 10:30 am. Please reach out to Sheila Morrow at [email protected] with any questions. Please join us!
