Another successful UPP is behind us, a wonderful opportunity to build our community in a friendly setting while strengthening our parish finances as well as the future of our first and most important ministry—the formation of our youngest.
We are already looking forward to June and the rest and relaxation of summer, as the memories of our COVID isolations fade into the distance. Maybe we’re feeling rested after a flurry of early spring activity at our own homes. Maybe we’re planning long dreamed-of vacations or staycations.
But maybe we’re just looking forward to an even more reopened world around us, allowing us to more fully reengage with each other, especially within our own parish.
As we prepare in hope to enjoy the full reopening of our lives we QAS parishioners can take time to review our commitments to God and to each other, using the traditional stewardship terms of time (perhaps an hour a week to attend Mass), talent (helping those in our community through our joint efforts) and treasure (giving back some of the material gifts we have been blessed to receive). Let’s think in these terms:
Intentional—a well thought out, deliberate and honest discussion with ourselves to thank God for all His blessings by returning to him a portion of the time, talent, and treasure given to us
Planned—using this time of the year for our family to make stewardship of time and talent a regular part of our lifestyle and stewardship of treasure a part of our budget.
Proportionate—making a firm decision to give a certain percentage of our time and our income to our parish and to other charities.
Whatever your decision, please know that we are always grateful for your full participation, including your attendance at Mass, your volunteer work in our many ministries, and your financial support.
