We were very happy to announce recently that the construction phase of our Capital Campaign is finally over. In these somewhat difficult times it’s good to step back and remind ourselves what we have accomplished. What your generosity has brought about is truly magnificent:
Phase I – the comprehensive renovation of the Benedict Center Phase II – renovation and upgrades to the Lemont and Keene buildings Phase III – restoration of the former Rose Room to a new parish center and other enhancements.
An accomplishment like ours is possible only with the dedication of a very special parish family. That generosity deserves its own public recognition. One side of the corridor at the north west corner hallway of the basilica now holds a plaque with the names of the donors to our Millennium Campaign (2002-2004). In the near future, the other side of the corridor will hold a plaque with the names of our generous donors to the 2016-2021 Capital Campaign, “From Generation To Generation.”
As was the case with the Millennium Campaign, donor names will be listed by giving levels, each bearing a title in the timeless Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary by which we refer to Mary, the Queen of All Saints and the patroness of our parish. Those giving levels will be:
Queen of Prophets $1 to $999 Queen of Patriarchs $1,000 to $2,999 Queen of Apostles $3,000 to $5,999 Queen of Martyrs $6,000 to $12,499 Queen of Confessors $12,500 to $24,999 Queen of the Most Holy Rosary $25,000 to $49,999 Queen of Angels $50,000 to $99,999 Queen of Peace $100,000 and above
A draft of the plaque will be published in the parish bulletin twice in the spring/summer of 2022 before all information and formatting is considered complete. We urge you to complete (or even increase) your pledge at your earliest convenience so that your generosity is recognized in its proper giving level. Our original pledge goal of $5 million was exceeded, with total pledges of nearly $5.2 million, but unforeseen construction issues resulted in a total project cost of over $6 million. Payments on pledges are still arriving. Your reconsideration of your original pledge will help us. Please know that 100% of your additional pledge will be retained here at our parish for that specific need.
Once again, our entire Queen of All Saints family deserves our deepest thanks and congratulations for this moment. Just as we have enjoyed the generosity of those who came before us, so also our current and future parish family will enjoy the fruits of your generosity for decades to come.
