Phase III has begun! Finally. After years of preparation, fundraising, construction starts, hidden obstacles discovered during construction, smart revisions and hard work, it’s here. Phase III! Let’s review how we got here:
We completed Phase I of our capital campaign, the comprehensive renovation and repurposing of the Benedict Center:
State of the art classrooms for our 3 and 4 year old early childhood education programs
New gathering spaces for our adult ministries
All new electrical wiring, plumbing and HVAC
Dedicated space for our Special Religious Education Program
Enhanced fire safety and security features, plus elevator access for the elderly and disabled
And then we completed Phase II:
The renovation of the former kindergarten space for use by our larger ministries, including the Men’s Club and Women’s Auxiliary
Reconfiguration of classrooms, library, music program area into updated and more appropriate space
And now we start Phase III:
Due to the interruption in our finances and parish life from COVID-19 we slowed down Phase III in 2020 and only completed limited preliminary work, namely some asbestos abatement and the upgrade of the electrical supply to the older parts of our campus to handle our future needs
And now immediately after school lets out this Friday, June 11, we begin construction on the creation of a flexible parish community space in the former Rose Room, restoring that space to its original function!
We are grateful to all who have stayed current on their pledges to date and ask everyone to remain current so that our cash needs for this summer’s construction program can be met.
100% of your pledge payments at this point are used for our parish capital campaign.
As we return to a full parish life we look forward to the realization of our long-held parish plans to make our parish facilities the very best possible for young and old (and everyone in between)!
