Greetings from the Principal’s Office! It’s nice to have this opportunity to directly address the parishioners of Queen of All Saints. Having a strong parish to serve as a foundation for our school supports not only the families of our parish but also the future of the Catholic Church itself. Let me take this opportunity to thank you, the parishioners, for your support of Catholic education and for your prayers for our continued success.
Queen of All Saints School is off to a fabulous start. Our enrollment is 575 which is up from last year. Through the generosity of parishioners and other donors, twenty-six students are benefiting from Tax Credit Scholarships that fund anywhere from 50 - 100% of their tuition. I am grateful that the program was extended another year to benefit all families interested in Catholic education for their children. The day-to-day school life is looking a bit more normal as our students are back to learning in centers, meeting in pairs and groups, changing classes, and fully utilizing shared spaces such as the art studio and science and STEM labs. After (and before) school and the weekends are abuzz with extracurricular activities and athletics. All of these events help to build the community that adds vitality to our school and parish. Last year’s theme was QAS Strong….I think of this year as QAS Alive!
Our faith life continues to be strengthened at school - both through formal religion curriculum as well as opportunities to live our faith. I am so very proud of our Student Council who successfully sponsored a fund-raising walk to benefit Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research. The pink ribbons that donned the trees surrounding our campus buildings were in support of Assistant Principal, Amy Moore, and other women in our school, community, parish and families who have been battling this disease. It’s wonderful that our Student Council chose its first event in the spirit of helping others. Additionally, our Faith Partner program is back this year! Students connect across grade levels to share our faith and forge important relationships.
The most important relationship for our students’ development is their connection to Christ and our Blessed Mother and Patroness. Our school theme is “Strength for the Journey.” We teach our students to rely on our prayer lives to not only appeal to Jesus, Mary and the saints for the things we want, but to rely on these special people for strength to guide us on our individual journeys as well as to show gratitude for the blessings we receive each day.
I am blessed to work with a dedicated staff and a wonderfully supportive community that embraces the mission of Catholic education. Please continue to pray for us, and thanks, once again, for your support.
