As the memory of our COVID ordeal continues to recede; as we continue to maintain our Sunday giving in sometimes difficult times; as we focus on the need to replenish our parish endowments for the funds spent on our unexpected expenses for repairs in recent years to the basilica; and as we look ahead to our one single parish-wide annual fundraiser, the United Parish Program (UPP) on May 12, it challenges our generous spirit to think about fitting in one more request for support, the Archdiocesan Annual Catholic Appeal.
But here are just some of what that very worthy Archdiocesan-wide appeal supports:
Financially Challenged Parishes and Schools: support for parishes and schools serving financially challenged communities.
Parish Incentives/Rebates: funds raised in excess of individual parish goals are returned to the parish for use with their local ministries.
Evangelization Efforts: spiritual renewal efforts at parishes.
Priest Development: continuing education and development for seminarians and priests ordained in the Archdiocese of Chicago.
Scholarships for Catholic School Families: tuition assistance for Catholic school families in need.
Parish Life and Divine Worship: enhancements for liturgy and sacred music at parishes.
Parish Vitality and Mission: programs to support parish vitality, evangelization initiatives and liturgy enhancements.
Young Adult Faith Formation: support for youth, young adult, and campus religious education ministries.
Family Ministries: programs to strengthen and support family faith formation.
Human Dignity and Solidarity: activities promoting respect for life at all stages, immigration, Kolbe House prison ministry, and peace and justice initiatives.
Catholic Relief Services: assisting the poor and vulnerable overseas.
Our parish community at Queen of All Saints has always responded to this annual call without hesitation. We know that this year will be no exception and that again we will be proud of our parish’s collective effort. Thank you once again.
