As we continue to maintain our Sunday giving to support our parish operations, as we focus on the need to replenish our parish endowments for the funds spent on our unexpected expenses for repairs in recent years to the Basilica, and as we look ahead to our one single parish-wide annual fundraiser, the United Parish Program (UPP) on May 16, it challenges our generous spirit to think about fitting in one more request for support, the Archdiocesan Annual Catholic Appeal.
But here are just some of what that very worthy Archdiocesan-wide Appeal supports: · Low-Income Parishes and Schools: Support for parishes and schools serving financially challenged communities. · Parish Incentives: After a parish reaches its goal, donated funds return to the parish for local use. · Archdiocesan Ministries: Outreach initiatives for young adults, families, children, and others. · Spiritual Renewal Efforts: Transforming parishes to share our faith in new and creative ways. · Priest Formation: Education and development for seminarians and priests in the Archdiocese of Chicago. · Scholarships for Catholic School Families: Tuition assistance for disadvantaged Catholic school families. · Catholic Relief Services: Support for those suffering from natural disasters around the world.
Our parish community at Queen of All Saints has always responded to this annual call without hesitation. We know that this year will be no exception and that we will be proud of our parish’s collective effort. Thank you once again.
