Today is the start of Catholic Schools Week. Our deep pride and satisfaction in the excellent work done by our school is tempered by the unfortunate reminder that the Illinois legislature terminated the Invest in Kids tax credit scholarship program last year on December 31, 2023.
For 84 years, Queen of All Saints School has provided students a high-quality, faith-based education that prepares them to lead, not just in our local communities but in the broader national and global communities in which our graduates contribute their talents. While our parish continues to provide the largest share of support by far to all families attending our school, in past years the tax credit scholarship program also provided need-based tuition assistance to families committed to a Catholic education.
In previous years you may have supported the tax credit program through Empower Illinois or Big Shoulders. Regardless of the fact the legislature has decided to eliminate the good work performed by these groups, we need not and can not stand still.
The call for need-based scholarships for Catholic school students is greater than ever. The most effective way for you to support them now is to make a donation to the Archdiocese of Chicago Scholarship Fund. Donations can be made at www.archchicago.org/scholarships and can be directed to Queen of All Saints School (or to any other school in the Archdiocese in the donor’s discretion).
Remember, gifts to this program:
· Are 100% tax deductible (as allowable by law) · Can be directed to individual schools · Can be made at archchicago.org/scholarships
If you designate Queen of All Saints School as your recipient, we will receive 100% of your donation.
With your help, all deserving students can stay in our school next year. Please take a moment to contribute now.
