The beginning of June means summer is right around the corner. Flowers are blooming and trees are in full leaf. And Christian stewards are reminding themselves that stewardship continues as we head into the days of vacation, barbecues, summer reading lists, family reunions and trips to the beach.
Christian stewards are well aware of the summer needs of the less fortunate, as well as being aware of their own need to give throughout the year. For the Christian steward, the spirituality of gratitude to God is part of their everyday lives and motivates their generous heart.
On a practical level, this can mean involving your whole family in a summer project at a local charity. With kids out of school, there’s a great opportunity to fill some idle hours with some eye-opening charitable ventures to a part of our city they’ve never seen, or an agency they’ve never visited.
Back here at home, remember that our basilica will remain open for our usual Mass schedule. Bringing the whole family to Mass every weekend is a great way to stay connected to our parish.
And if you are fortunate to enjoy an occasional weekend away from town, this would be a great time to enroll in our electronic giving program. Just go
to sign up. Thanks for all you do for us and for others!
Whatever your decision, please know that we are always grateful
for your full participation, including your attendance at Mass,
your volunteer work in our many ministries,
and your financial support.
