The most important things in life require preparation. When parents discover they are expecting a new child, they decorate a room, purchase clothes, and a family member or friend throws a baby shower. Similarly, in other areas of life, we prepare, whether for a new job, purchasing a new home, or embarking on a new vocation.
A few months ago, the world's attention was focused on Queen Elizabeth's funeral. On full display was the splendor of the monarchy and the pageantry that accompanied the days of mourning and funeral services. The outpouring of affection surprised even those who abhorred the monarchy. Many admired her devotion to duty and service, and a few did speak of her faith. She gratefully acknowledged God's steadfast love and faithfulness in the foreword to the book 'The Servant Queen and the King She Serves' published to celebrate her 90th birthday.
This past weekend, the 2022 Queen of All Saints Varsity Football team capped off their UNDEFEATED (9-0) season by beating their neighborhood rival, St. Mary of the Woods, 32-7 at Loyola Academy to capture the Council II-3A Athletic Football Championship! The team led by head coach Tim Lynch with a tremendous coaching staff, coaches Martin, Fraterrigo, Stanton, Hall as well as QAS alums John Costello, John McMahon, Vito Cannizzaro and Chris Kuchuris, did an amazing job to get the team ready to play hard every game in winning their first varsity championship since 2007! Cardinal Cupich is lifting the general dispensation from the obligation to participate in Sunday Mass that was put into effect at the beginning of the pandemic. It's not too late to learn about 2022 charitable contributions to benefit Illinois Tax Credit Scholarships. As an example, a $1000 contribution will cost you only $250 after a 75% state income tax credit and will be matched 1 for 1. That means your after-tax final cost of $250 will result in $2000 for financial aid scholarships, and you can designate students at Queen of All Saints School, or a wider group of schools, to receive those funds.
