Parish Council

MISSION
The Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) exercises shared responsibility for the pastoral life of the parish under the leadership of the pastor. In this context, the purpose of the council is to prayerfully engage the people and the pastor in common reflection about the parish's mission and the ministry, to plan, and to evaluate in the light of the Gospel and church teaching. It, therefore, has four basic responsibilities:

1. to research the need, the ideas and the hopes of the faith community;
2. to encourage and support existing ministries;
3. to evaluate the quality of life of the parish faith community;
4. to plan for the parish's future by recommending policies, procedures and programs that will implement its values and fulfill the Church's mission.

MEMBERSHIP
The Parish Pastoral Council shall consist of up to fifteen (15) members and the pastor ex officio. To be a member of the Parish Pastoral Council, the following criteria must be met:

• A member must be a baptized and confirmed Catholic.
• A member must be a registered parishioner.
• A member must be an active participant in the faith community, contributing in one way or another to the life of the parish.

The terms of service on the PPC shall be two (2) years with a maximum of two (2) consecutive terms.

MEETING SCHEDULE
Currently meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month from September through June. All regular meetings will be open to the parish community and will be advertised as such in the bulletin two weeks prior to the meeting. Parishioners are invited to share in the meeting as observers with set times to speak as time permits.

COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES
Five (5) ad hoc Commissions of the PPC shall be convened as needed. They are Faith Formation, Parish Life, Spiritual life, Outreach and Accountability, as designated by the Archdiocesan Norms.
